CNP® (Complex Neural Pulse) is designed as an in-home medical treatment for Chronic pain. CNP® is non-invasive and acts through central, or cerebral, neuromodulation. CNP® is applied through a portable device – the OPERA™ Device – consisting of a headset and central generating unit. There is no pharmacologic component to the therapy.
Complex Neural Pulse (CNP®) may represent a significant technological advance due of the following reasons:
The CNP® pulseform is delivered by means of a headset that rests just above the ears. The therapy is non-invasive, and the therapeutic electromagnetic pulseforms allow for tissue penetration without sensation.
CNP Therapeutics believes that CNP®’s specific pulseform facilitates the selective modulation of those regions of the brain related to the condition of interest.

CNP® pulseforms are anatomically specific, as they are determined by the communication protocols used within the relevant areas of the brain that process chronic pain signals. The pulseform is designed to affect only those areas of the brain which process signals related to the condition of interest.

CNP® is based on a specific, designed pulseform that targets the circuitous aberrant signal associated with chronic pain and does not depend on the power of the pulseform in order to achieve its effect. At the surface of the brain, the OPERA™ Device delivers 700 µT, which is lower than the field strength generated by some hair dryers (up to 2000 µT), and is in sharp contrast to the 1,500,000 – 3,000,000 µT static field strength of an MRI machine. The OPERA™ Device delivers 100 µT to the deep brain, which is comparable to everyday exposure from the earth’s magnetic field (50 µT).
The OPERA™ device is approved for sale in Canada and Europe.
